Does the weft yarn detector of a water jet loom need to be sensitive at all times?

The weft yarn detector of the water jet loom needs to be kept sensitive and reliable at all times, otherwise it will directly affect the weaving efficiency and fabric quality. Here are the specific points:

1. Regularly clean the probe to prevent interference from flying debris and scale
Cotton wool, water stains, or oil stains accumulated on the surface of the probe can block light or magnetic fields, leading to misjudgment of weft breakage. When stopping each shift, gently wipe the sensing surface of the probe with a lint free soft cloth dipped in clean water. The use of corrosive solvents is strictly prohibited.

2. Check the installation position to avoid mechanical displacement
The vibration of the weaving machine can easily cause the probe bracket to loosen and shift. Every day, manually rotate the probe to confirm that there is no shaking, ensuring that the distance between the probe and the weft yarn flight trajectory is stable (about one finger width). If the deviation exceeds half of the probe width, it needs to be recalibrated.

3. Wear and tear of protective circuits, prevent signal attenuation
The probe connecting wire is prone to skin breakage and short circuit at frequent bending of the rack. Unwrap the cotton wool around the cable every week, and focus on checking whether the wire sheath passing through the metal hole is worn through. If necessary, wrap or replace the entire wire with insulating tape.

4. Observe action feedback and adjust sensitivity in a timely manner
The probe indicator light should flash regularly during normal weft insertion. If the light goes off without reason, stays on continuously, or flashes and stops intermittently, it indicates abnormal sensitivity. Immediately stop the machine for cleaning and weaving. If the issue persists, manually adjust the detector knob (note the original position first and then turn it slightly).

5. Maintenance of linkage mechanism to ensure triggering reliability
The swing shaft of the mechanical weft detector needs to be dripped with light engine oil every month to prevent rust and ensure flexible swinging. The electromagnetic weft detector needs to check whether the shrapnel is deformed, as deformed shrapnel can weaken the impact force and lead to missed detection.
