Dissolve stubborn scale more thoroughly
Ordinary tap water contains calcium and magnesium ions, which can easily form hard scale when exposed to high temperatures, making it difficult to remove with simple scrubbing. Softened water, after ion treatment, can penetrate the bottom layer of scale, loosen and crystallize. When soaked with weak acid cleaners (such as white vinegar or citric acid), it can cause stubborn scale to fall off as a whole.
Prevent secondary scaling and damage to parts
After rinsing with tap water, the minerals in the residual water stains will quickly form a new layer of scale, which can accumulate repeatedly and easily block the spray hole and wear out the water pump seal ring. Softened water flushing has no mineral residue, avoiding scaling again in the short term after cleaning, and extending the life of nozzles and solenoid valves.
Protect metal components from corrosion
Strong acid descaling agents (such as hydrochloric acid) may remove dirt quickly, but they can corrode stainless steel spray needles and copper valve cores. Dilute the weak acid agent with softened water (vinegar water ratio 1:5), which can slowly decompose scale without damaging the metal. After cleaning, it is necessary to rinse repeatedly with softened water three times to thoroughly remove acidic residues.
Key parts need to be finely processed by hand
Narrow areas such as the inside of the spray hole and the gap between the solenoid valve piston can block the water flow after the scale hardens. The parts need to be removed and soaked in softened water for two hours, then lightly brushed along the grain with a hard brush (avoid using metal brushes) in one direction. Soaking in un softened water can cause the bristles to push the scale and get stuck in the gaps.
Attention to operation: The clumped scale should be physically loosened before soaking to avoid large pieces falling off and blocking the pipeline. After cleaning, test run the machine idle for ten minutes to observe whether the spray water line is evenly scattered - if there are forks or skewers, it indicates that the residual scale is not completely cleared and needs to be reworked.
